High-Performance Sports Car External Aerodynamics CFD Simulation

This project used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to investigate the external aerodynamics of a high-performance sports car. We analyzed how airflow interacts with the vehicle body and changes around its complex geometry. The simulation captured flow acceleration, pressure distribution, boundary-layer behavior, flow separation, and wake formation.

The CFD results revealed important aerodynamic characteristics that can affect drag, lift, stability, and overall vehicle performance. The analysis also helped identify regions where geometric changes could improve airflow behavior. This type of aerodynamic performance analysis with CFD simulation allows engineers to assess design alternatives before building physical prototypes. As a result, CFD can reduce development time and testing costs while supporting better-informed aerodynamic design decisions.
